Molly Pollak, Choosing to Be in Over my Head
, Dec. 2005

Molly Pollak is currently teaching English at SAR High School and mentoring and teaching teachers there and elsewhere (including the Leadership Development Program for Drisha’s full-time students!).

After thirty continuous years of teaching English, the last five at a Yeshiva, I decided it was time to turn my attention to my own learning. I wanted to achieve the same level of ability to analyze biblical texts as I had in English texts, so Drisha was the obvious choice. I decided to enroll full time in the Yesodot program, taking beginner and intermediate classes simultaneously.

I chose to be in over my head. Because of the generosity of my teachers and classmates who have been patient with my rudimentary skills, I have learned a great deal. An added bonus is sitting in the Beit Midrash listening to the scholars and daydreaming about reaching their level of learning!
