Collegiate June Immersion Program: May 30 - June 30, 2012
This program was made possible in part by funds granted by the Covenant Foundation.
Drisha’s June Immersion Program is a co-ed month-long learning and community building program for college students. In this program, students study a broad range of Jewish subjects including Gemara, Tanakh, Philosophy, and Halakha. This is the first of many programs that aim to engage young leadership in encountering Jewish texts in a serious, intellectually rigorous, and inclusive manner.
In our inaugural class in 2010, we had 60 students from over 20 colleges, who were all leaders on their campuses, Hillel communities, social justice projects, and campus publications. We examined the relationship between spirituality and community involvement and action with the goal of inspiring a commitment to service to the Jewish people and to leadership in the Jewish community.

Courses are offered at two levels: Level I is for students with limited experience working with classical Jewish texts. Level II courses are for students with the ability to read and understand texts in Hebrew or Aramaic. Click here for a registration form.
Collegiate July Immersion Program: July 2 - August 3, 2012
This program was made possible in part by funds granted by the Covenant Foundation.
Due to the generosity of a donor, Drisha is offering special fellowships to female college students interested in studying in the July Institute (see above). The July Collegiate Immersion Program is fueled by Drisha’s vision of the role Torah study plays in the life of the committed Jew. Participants engage in an immersive learning program in an environment in which Torah is studied with passion, rigor, and commitment. The schedule includes Talmud or biblical Hebrew in the mornings, and Tanakh, Halakha, and Jewish Thought in the afternoons. There will be a weekly night seder, a shabbaton, and occasional evening activities. The July Collegiate Immersion Program incorporates a broad range of approaches to the study of biblical, rabbinic, and philosophical texts, and asks participants to consider how these texts and ideas speak to them as they progress in their life-journeys.
