DRISHA Full-time Programs for Women

Women from all walks of life, of all ages and backgrounds, are attracted to the intellectual rigor and personalized attention that characterize our full-time learning programs. Students range from college graduates to experienced educators, academicians, doctors, lawyers, and business people.

A leadership development program is offered to second-year students, with an optional internship for third-year students.

Scholars Circle
Highly qualified women participate in this intensive, three-year program leading to certification in Talmud and Jewish law.

Beit Midrash Program
Women with textual skills engage in a year of intensive, full-time study of biblical and rabbinic texts. Beginner level also available.

HaSha'ar Track
Women in either program may elect to be in the HaSha'ar track.  Students in this track prepare for careers as day school educators.

Yesodot Skill-Building Program
Women who want to build skills in Biblical Hebrew and Jewish text study may enroll in this program on a full-time or part-time basis. Graduates of Yesodot who are sufficiently advanced may apply for the other full-time programs.

Arts Fellowships
Women, who are professional artists, learn in an open and dynamic Beit Midrash. Visual artists, creative writers, filmmakers, musicians, and dancers, especially those interested in serving as educators and role models in the Jewish community, develop skills to interpret classical Jewish texts, participate in various salons and events throughout the year.

Artists come from a range of backgrounds in Jewish learning and have the opportunity to select a group of classes appropriate to their level. The fellows participate in special salons and events at Drisha throughout the year.
