DRISHA The Gwendolyn and Joseph Straus School for Continuing Education

The Gwendolyn and Joseph Straus School
for Continuing Education

Summer 2008

Learn part-time, day or evening at Drisha, in the Gwendolyn and Joseph Straus School for Continuing Education. There are fall, spring, and summer semesters, and most courses meet weekly for 1.5 hours. Selected courses are open to women and men. In some instances, class time is provided to prepare source material in havruta (partner learning), enabling students to gain a stronger command and insight into the text.

To build skills in Hebrew language and Jewish text study, Drisha offers the Yesodot skill-building program. Yesodot has empowered and enriched the lives of many Drisha students, who can now prepare a Dvar Torah, study with their children, appreciate the beauty of prayer, or understand the Torah reading at synagogue.

Yesodot classes are indicated with a in the course listings.
